Radiation therapy is used for benign tumors to control and restrict their growth. Although benign tumors are abnormal cellular growth that does not spread, this tumor growth puts pressure on the adjacent tissues and impacts their function. Hence, doctors utilize radiotherapy in controlling these tumors along with surgical excision. The radiation from radiotherapy devices is painless and the patient does not feel pain during or after the treatment session. Diagnosis with cancer is not the end of the world. It is always possible to reach a full recovery with benign and malignant tumors, especially when the symptoms are discovered and diagnosed in the early stages.
