Almoosa Health has announced the completion of concrete works for the Almoosa Specialist Hospital, Al Hofuf project, marking a major construction milestone and paving the way for the next phase of development.

The upcoming phase will include architectural finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works, as well as the installation of advanced medical systems and equipment. The hospital is scheduled to welcome its first patients in the second quarter of 2027.

A 300-Bed Hospital Serving Al Hofuf and Al Ahsa

Spanning approximately 185,000 square meters of built-up area, Almoosa Specialist Hospital, Al Hofuf features an 18-story concrete superstructure and two basement levels

The hospital will include:

• 300 inpatient beds
• 15 operating rooms
• 50 emergency beds
• 245 outpatient clinics covering a comprehensive range of medical specialties

Once operational, the hospital will provide an integrated range of medical and surgical services supported by advanced healthcare technologies, improving access to specialized care for residents of Al Hofuf, Al Ahsa, and neighbouring communities.

Concrete Works Completed to High Quality and Safety Standards

The concrete construction phase was completed over a period of 12 months and involved the placement of more than 126,000 cubic meters of concrete.

During this phase, the project recorded more than 2.25 million safe working hours. At peak construction, approximately 750 professionals and workers were on-site, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and schedule performance.

The completion of the concrete structure represents a pivotal milestone that enables the project to progress to the MEP, interior finishing, medical systems, and equipment installation phases.

SAR 608 Million Contract Awarded for MEP and Interior Fit-Out Works

As the project moves into its next phase, Almoosa Health has awarded a SAR 608 million contract for the hospital’s MEP works and interior fit-out.

The contract was awarded to Al Majal Al Arabi Group, a specialized contractor with a proven track record that includes more than 16 healthcare projects across Saudi Arabia.

The upcoming works will include the installation of essential mechanical and electrical systems, interior finishes, and the infrastructure required to support the hospital’s medical systems and advanced equipment.

Part of Almoosa Health’s Expansion Strategy

The Almoosa Specialist Hospital, Al Hofuf project represents another major milestone in Almoosa Health’s long-term strategy to expand its healthcare network and serve the Al Ahsa community.

Upon completion, the hospital will join Almoosa Health’s growing network of healthcare facilities in the region, which includes:

• Almoosa Specialist Hospital, Al Mubarraz — 430 beds
• Almoosa Rehabilitation Hospital — 300 beds
• Al Nakheel Medical Center
• Al Salmaniyah Medical Center — scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2026
