Almoosa Health Group has announced the completion of structural concrete work on Almoosa Specialist Hospital in Hofuf, marking a major milestone in the project’s construction. The completion paves the way for finishing work and the installation of advanced systems and medical equipment.

God willing, the hospital is scheduled to welcome its first patients in the second quarter of 2027, providing comprehensive medical and surgical services to residents of Hofuf, Al Ahsa Governorate, and surrounding communities.

A Full-Service, 300-Bed Hospital in Hofuf

The Almoosa Specialist Hospital in Hofuf project has a total floor area of approximately 185,000 square metres. Its concrete structure consists of 18 above-ground floors and two basement levels.

The hospital will feature a comprehensive range of medical facilities, including:

• 300 inpatient beds
• 15 operating rooms
• 50 emergency beds
• 245 outpatient clinics covering a comprehensive range of medical specialties

The project aims to bring together a full range of medical and surgical services, supported by advanced medical technology and equipment, to improve access to specialty care in Hofuf and Al Ahsa Governorate.

Structural Concrete Work Completed in Line with Quality and Safety Standards

Structural concrete work on the project was completed in 12 months, with more than 126,000 cubic meters of concrete poured.

During this phase, the project logged more than 2.25 million safe work hours, with a peak workforce of approximately 750 workers. The work was carried out in accordance with quality and safety standards and the project’s scheduling requirements.

Completion of the concrete structure marks a key milestone, allowing the project to move into its next phases: mechanical and electrical work, interior finishing, and the installation of medical systems and equipment.

Designed Around Patients and Their Families

Almoosa Specialist Hospital in Hofuf was designed in collaboration with HKS, a U.S.-based architecture firm specialising in healthcare design, to create a modern healing environment centred on the needs of patients and their families.

The design supports a smooth patient experience, efficient movement throughout the hospital, and an environment that promotes recovery, while meeting the needs of modern healthcare across medical specialties.

Expanding in Hofuf to Meet the Needs of a Growing Community

Project Manager Saad bin Abdulwahab Almoosa emphasized that completing the concrete structure was the result of planning, discipline, and teamwork, supported by effective collaboration among the project management team, the consultant, the contractor Masah Contracting Company, and all participating teams.

He added that work is continuing on the next phases with the same determination and commitment to quality while maintaining safety standards and adhering to the project’s established schedule.

SAR 608 Million Contract for Mechanical, Electrical, and Finishing Work

Almoosa Health Group has signed a SAR 608 million contract for mechanical, electrical, and finishing work at Hofuf Hospital.

The contract was awarded to Al Majal Al Arabi Company, a specialist in hospital construction whose portfolio includes more than 16 healthcare projects in Saudi Arabia, reflecting its experience and capabilities in delivering healthcare facilities.

The next phase will involve installing mechanical and electrical systems, completing finishing work, and preparing the infrastructure needed to accommodate medical systems and equipment.

Hofuf Hospital: Part of Almoosa Health Group’s Expansion Plan

The Almoosa Specialist Hospital in Hofuf project is part of Almoosa Health Group’s strategy to expand and develop its network of healthcare facilities in Al Ahsa Governorate.

The hospital is set to join Almoosa Health Group’s network of facilities in the governorate, which includes:

• Almoosa Specialist Hospital, Al Mubarraz — 430 beds
• Almoosa Rehabilitation Hospital — 300 beds
• Al Nakheel Medical Center
• Al Salmaniyah Medical Center — scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2026

Through these projects, Almoosa Health Group continues to strengthen healthcare in Al Ahsa Governorate and expand the range of specialty services available to the community.
