Colon cancer is the third most common type of cancer in men and the second most common in women after breast cancer. Despite the increased incidence rate, colon cancer is characterized by high cure rates attributed to the different treatment methods currently available. The symptoms of colon cancer depend on the size and location of the tumor. Hence, many people suffer from colon cancer but do not show any symptoms, especially in the early stages of the disease. Treatment depends on the stage of the disease and can include surgical treatment, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy.
