After 26 days in the ICU
Almoosa cardiac team managed to save a patient life after long standing cardiac arrest due to LAD total occlusion.

Driving the company’s car as usual. Roads became familiar, and his language is weak yet understandable.
“Asnawi,” the Filipino who spent more than half his life in Saudi Arabia, felt a sudden pain in his chest while driving the car. He tried to ignore the pain, but it became unbearable.
The patient changed his route to ASH. He parked his car in front of the ER – shuffled out until he crashed in front of the door.
“Prompt examination showed that the patient suffers from a cardiac arrest. So he was resurrected, and after the sixth attempt, his heart came back to life,” said Dr. Abdulhakim Habib, consultant intervention cardiologist.
The patient was placed on a mechanical ventilator and transferred directly to the Cath Lab. The cath lab team led by Dr. Abdel Hakim installed IABP for supporting the heart and the LAD total occlusion opened with balloon and stent.
The patient was transferred to the ICU to manage post-cardiac arrest complications: renal failure, brain hypoxia, and chest infection.

The patient stayed 26 days in the ICU under care of Dr. Walid Hassan Intensive Care Consultant, with close follow-up and a balanced treatment plan. It is worth noting that the death rate incidence in such cases exceeds 50%.
On the 26th day, the ventilator was removed, and the patient returned to his normal condition. He was discharged from the hospital in good health
