What is neurotic personality?

What are the causes of nervousness?

Causes of nervousness include:

What are the symptoms of neurotic personality?

There are signs that may indicate a neurotic personality, such as:

  1. Can't easily get yourself out of feelings of anxiety and sadness?
  1. Do you frequently feel sad or depressed?
  1. Do you suffer from overthinking?
  1. Do you get upset by small situations or things?
  1. Do you criticize yourself too much when you make mistakes, even if they are small?
  1. Do you feel angry most of the time?
  1. Do you doubt your ability to face challenges?
  1. Do you feel unstable most of the time?
  1. Do you turn simple, unworthy issues into major issues because of your stress and nervousness?
  1. Do you give up when you face serious problems?
  1. Can you control your emotions?

If your answer is “I agree” give yourself 5 marks, if “sometimes” then take 3 marks, and if “I disagree” then it is equal to 1.

Total your scores, then compare them to the following:

  • 20 - 33 I am not nervous.
  • 34 - 49 Low level nervousness.
  • 50 - 70 average nervousness.
  • 71 - 86 somewhat nervous.
  • 87 - 100 Very nervous.

  1. Is it difficult to control your emotions?
  1. Are you always afraid of the worst?
  1. Do you get frustrated easily?
  1. I don't get upset over simple things easily?
  1. Do you feel comfortable when you are alone?
  1. Do you feel depressed and frustrated most of the time?
  1. You rarely feel down?
  1. Do you suffer from frequent mood swings?
  1. Can you stay calm during times of stress?
  1. Do you feel threatened and frightened easily?
  1. Is it rare for you to lose your cool?
  1. Do you feel unsettled and suspicious of things around you?
  • Strongly agree = 4
  • Somewhat agree = 2
  • Neutral = 1
  • Somewhat disagree = 2
  • Strongly disagree = 3

Add the scores and compare them as follows:

  • 20 - 35 I'm not nervous.
  • 36 - 50 Low level nervousness.
  • 50 - 70 nervous at a moderate level.
  • 71 - 85 Somewhat nervous.
  • 86 - 100 Very nervous.
