Shailesh started his career in the mid-’90s with Fortis Healthcare Group, one of India’s largest healthcare groups with a network of more than 30 hospitals across India. In 2003, he joined the Mediclinic group in Dubai as finance manager. The group grows to be a network of 7 hospitals and multiple medical centers.

In 2006 he joined Emaar Company in Dubai as Director of the Emaar Healthcare and Education portfolio, where he managed and led the expansion of multiple medical centers and school investments. In 2012, after 6 years with Emaar, he was headhunted by GEMS Education Group, one of the world’s largest school operators with more than 70 schools in their group in the UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, and China, where he worked as CFO of East Asia operations and led the group’s expansion plans in opening new schools in China, Singapore, and Malaysia. In the year 2021, Shailesh joined the Royal Commission of Riyadh as an advisor in the healthcare and education sectors with the aim to privatize and attract foreign and local investments in the assets that are under the royal commission’s authority.

The joining of Mr. Shailesh comes at a time of our group expansion in healthcare with exciting projects in the pipeline and our aim to expand in the education sector as well.

He is married and has 2 children. One of them is a daughter, Nidhi, who works with the NHS in England, and his son Vittal graduated in fashion design from Paris, France.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor and MBA in Finance from the University of Delhi in 1995
2. Certified Management Accountant from the Institute of Accounting in India.
