Dr. Mamdouh Al Nahwi
Dr. Mamdouh Alnahawi is the Group Chief Medical Officer of Almoosa Health, where he leads the clinical strategy, quality of care, and medical operations across the organization. A Consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic, and General Surgeon with more than two decades of experience, he plays a central role in shaping Almoosa Health’s medical excellence, patient-centered care, and operational efficiency.
Dr. Alnahawi has extensive clinical expertise in hepatobiliary and pancreatic oncology, advanced minimally invasive surgery, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, upper GI oncology, and peritoneal surface malignancy, including cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC. Before joining Almoosa Health, he trained and practiced at leading institutions in Saudi Arabia and Australia, including the University of New South Wales–affiliated St. George and Bankstown Hospitals in Sydney.
Within Almoosa, he previously served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery, where he led major service developments, strengthened clinical governance, and advanced surgical training programs. He also directed the Saudi Board General Surgery Residency Program at the hospital, reflecting his long-standing commitment to medical education, research, and workforce development.
Dr. Alnahawi is a founding member of the Middle East & North Africa Chapter of the International Hepatobiliary Association and has held key leadership roles in major tertiary institutions, including co-founding the Peritonectomy and HIPEC Unit at King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for elevating surgical standards, multidisciplinary care pathways, and high-reliability clinical systems.
He has presented at numerous international conferences, contributed to peer-reviewed publications, and remains actively engaged in advancing surgical innovation and quality improvement. His achievements have been recognized with multiple awards.
Beyond his professional life, Dr. Alnahawi enjoys travel, reading, and technology, and is deeply committed to developing the next generation of clinicians and medical leaders.
