Mrs. Hera Tashjian

Mrs. Hera is a critical care clinical nurse specialist, certified by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She did her undergrad B.S. in Nursing at the American University of Beirut and her graduate degree from Duke University in the USA (Masters in Adult Critical Care). She is a Ph.D. candidate at King’s College- London researching post-intensive care syndrome.

She has over 20 years of experience in critical care practice, education, leadership, and research at the American University of Beirut Medical Center – A.U.B.M.C., where she was part of the Magnet accreditation team’s first hospital in the Middle -the Middle East back in 2009. She was the first C.N.S. (Clinical Nurse Specialist) in Lebanon.

She led many evidence-based and quality improvement initiatives as an advanced practice nurse, educator, and chief nursing officer of Lebanese American university hospital – Rizk. She has presented many topics in critical care and nursing leadership regionally and internationally. Her most recent post was as a faculty and clinical instructor at the American University of Beirut Hariri School of nursing and as a Consultant at C.A.P.A.D.E.V., a capability development company working with the ministry of health in Saudi and the region in topics such as Value-based healthcare and patient experience.

Mrs. Hera is a mother of two (Adam and Lynn) and married to consultant stroke neurologist Dr. Hassan Moussa.
