Minister of Health Visits Almoosa Hospital in Al-Ahsa
Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, The Minister of Health, visited Almoosa Specialist Hospital on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, where he received by Sheikh Abdulaziz Almoosa, the Director General of the hospital, Mr. Malek Almoosa, CEO of the hospital, the Medical Director and a number of department heads at the hospital, following his arrival, he heard a presentation by the CEO about the hospital, including its establishment, its development stages, and its quality standards.
Mr. Malek Almoosa presented also how the hospital got the Golden Designation from Planetree International this year, to be the first hospital in the Middle East to receive this designation, and one of less than 100 hospitals around the world to have achieved this important level of designation for excellence in patient-centered care to improve patient experience and healthcare services, he also presented an overview of the recent “Patient Experience” conference that held by Almoosa Specialist Hospital under the patronage of the Ministry of Health in Al-Ahsa, on the 25th and 26th of October, 2017, which is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, that included 23 speakers from 7 countries in the presence of more than a thousand people from inside and outside the Kingdom.
Mr. Malek Almoosa pointed out during his presentation to the contract agreement that he has signed to start the engineering design to build “Almoosa Rehabilitation and Extended Care Hospital” on an area of 25000 m2 with a capacity of 300 beds, specializations include rehabilitation programs for sports injuries, orthopedic injuries, pediatric injuries and the spinal cord, nerves, and brain injurieswith Aldar International Co, in collaboration with HDR Company the No. 1 in healthcare facilities design firm globally.
The presentation also included the most important specialized services provided by the hospital and highlighted the medical achievements and its strategic plan, with a review of the most important expansion projects, which includes the construction of the future hospital (the North Tower), which will rise to 16 floors, on an area of 65000 m2 and at height of 100 m above the ground to be the largest building within Almoosa specialist hospital buildings group, therewith it will be the tallest building in Al-Ahsa and the tallest hospital in the Kingdom with a capacity of 220 beds.
The Minister then took a tour of a number of the hospital facilities, including ICU, Wards, and Pharmacy. He also reviewed the excellent potentials offered by Almoosa Hospital and its highly qualified staff in various specialties, Dr. Al-Rabiah paid tribute to the development of services provided by Almoosa Hospital and praised the role played by Almoosa in providing the best medical care to the citizens.
