Depression Treatment Program
Depression is a serious medical illness, causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn’t worth living.
At the Psychiatry Clinic at Almoosa Specialist Hospital, we offer
- Complete assessment and diagnosis of the health and psychological condition.
- Tests that rule out the organic causes of depression.
- A treatment program developed after discussion and long dialogue with the patient, consisting of a treatment plan that uses a drug approach and another that uses psychotherapy (through a program of cognitive-behavioral therapy or psychoanalysis).
- An integrated team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers. In addition, a visit program to monitor the progress of treatment is usually every 6 months.
